IFSTA Driver Operator Practice Test

The onboard water tank in a fire apparatus is designed primarily to provide a readily available source of water for fire suppression operations before connecting to external water sources, such as hydrants or static water supplies. This capability is crucial during the initial stages of a fire response, as it allows firefighters to begin suppressing flames almost immediately upon arrival at the scene, which can be vital for saving lives and protecting property.
